Lingrain Storage Ltd

Storage and Processing

Founded in 1980, Lingrain occupies a dockside site in the Port of Boston. It presently stores 47,000 tonnes for about 65 members within a 30-mile radius. On top of this it elevates up to a further 250,000 tonnes over its own ship loader for predominantly European destinations. Its situation in the port minimises onward freight charges. Commodities handled reflect its markets, so are mainly export grade wheat, rape and barley.

Facilities have benefited from recent upgrades and now include 5 intakes with a combined capacity of more than 3,000 tonnes/day, three driers rated at 160 tonnes/hr, and a 300 tonne/hour outload capacity capable of loading a coaster on a single tide. Quality segregation allied to sophisticated drying, monitoring and blending techniques ensure that every load goes out at precisely the specification that the customer demands.

Members’ returns benefit from Lingrain’s unique position in a port with an enviable record of service both in reduced freight charges and lower costs as a result of the elevations business.
